1 Kings 3: 1-15 Devotion: Your Request in Challenges
Good morning Family, we all have difficult decisions and challenges to face as we travel on this side of eternity. Now Solomon being a child when the kingdom was handed to him had the enormous challenge of governing over this great nation. Please turn your bibles to 1 Kings 3: 1-15.
We notice that Solomon in humility acknowledged the gravity of the task at hand and spoke to God in humility. Nowhere do we hear of him complaining or seeking council from the many advisors that he must have had at his disposal. He presented his case immediately before God. He did not run to his best friend, the pastor or Google.
He reminded God of His faithfulness to his father David and in humility asked that the same favour be shown towards him. Even before wisdom was given, we see where Solomon exercised maturity and the fear of The Lord. Believers, we must look at this example of what to do in difficult decisions and challenges. Bring all great and small before Our Lord.
Let us put off complaining as it did not work for the Israelites then and it will not work for us today. Present your situation before The Lord and ask how can this help to advance His will and Kingdom and the tools (physical or spiritual) that will be needed to thrive in this situation. We do not need to run from challenges when standing with God. With God we can bloom in any situation.
Come, join me in prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you this morning knowing that you stand with us in any and all situations. Help us to see that the battle has already been won and all You require is for us to exercise our faith and move in the direction given. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Amen
