Mark 8:27 Devotion: Who do people say I am?
Good morning Family, today’s devotion topic is Who do people say I am and the scripture reading will be taken from Mark 8:27 : Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
Jesus is not asking the question because He is unsure of His identity but to reveal to His disciples who He is not. He is not one of the great prophets such as Elijah or John the Baptist, but the Christ
The question is now put to us. Who is Jesus to us and not what others say He is. The reason is that Jesus wants to have an individual relationship with each of us. Our grandmother’s relationship is a good testimony for her, but we must have our own.
We say that we are standing on His promises, and that Jesus is our everything but as soon as there is any sign of discomfort in our lives, we move locations, even jobs. We did not give the one we say is the Lord of our lives time to act. We say that He is our provider, yet any lack in financial stature you find yourself at a bank seeking credit.
Many of us are only repeating words we hear others say such as Jesus is my all in all, my protector, my healer, my provider. We say that but then don’t offer up prayers but instead seek another person to pour into.
Believers, listen, who Jesus is to you will be made manifest in our lives daily. There will be no need to advertise as we will be bearing good fruit of who He is to us. Who Jesus is to you might change with your season and issues in life. However, for each season, prove that Jesus is who you say He is.
Come, join me in prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we lift our hand this morning in praise for what you are doing in our lives, and how you have revealed yourself. Lord continue to be our guide , protector, healer and whatever else we deem fit .In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Amen to this Devotion.
