Revelation 3:20 Devotion (11-25) Answer the Door

Good morning Family, let us give a shout of praise this morning that we are alive and that the grace of the Lord is still with us. Today’s devotion will be taken from Revelation 3:20, which reads, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (KJV) This morning’s devotion will start a little different and allow us to paint a picture.
What will you see on the faces of those that sit at your funeral. Will there be only sadness or smiles with each remembrance given. Stories, stories, stories, but what story will your life tell. There is only one story to tell, did you live a life for Christ. Nevertheless, here we are in celebration of the life you lived. A few mourners turning the pages of the glossy programs in sharp dark attire and tears streaking down the faces from those who would miss you the most. Many sit clutching to whatever memory they can, and there is that family member who is wondering if you remembered to leave something for them in your will. From where you sit, does it matter?
Your last breath being the first moment of eternity and what words will greet you at the pearly gates? If you are allowed in, then you would have presented your body as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), but if you hear depart from me (Matthew 7:21-23), then it would have been a wasted life. The ushers stand at the church door, but no one needs to usher in the tears. They flow freely because you recall in the wasted years you lived for self not Christ. Do you remember the many times the gospel was shared with you? Your replies while never spoken but echoed in your mind were, too busy, not yet, the Lords knows my heart, and I am having way too much fun to sit in long stuffy church services. Excuses
Your body is the temple of the Lord, but you never invited Jesus in. Now you stand at the threshold of eternity with tears in your eyes begging our Saviour to allow you to spend eternity in His Father’s house. For years Jesus stood at the door of your heart knocking, but for whatever reason you kept the door locked. Now, you are pounding on heaven’s gate to be let in, weeping, wailing and gnashing your teeth.
For those who are still sitting in this funeral service, it means that you have an opportunity to open the door and let Christ in and live the life worthy of this calling. Will you accept Jesus in your life today to be your shepherd; to be your Saviour and to be your Lord or will you go on your merry way only to repeat the scene depicted earlier.
The knocking at the door will eventually come to an end, let it not be when your time has ended. Answer the door, let Him in beyond the threshold and allow Him into all the “rooms of your life.”
Come, join me in prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, forgive us for all the times we have ignored your calls and we thank you for knocking on our door and that we still have an opportunity to let you in to transform our lives. Father for those of us who have already answered the door help us to give full access and surrender all aspects of our lives. Lord, let your will and kingdom be established in our lives, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen. Powerful devotion, can you imagine you die and enter the next realm rejected Christ all your life. We need to Repent, Repent, Repent before it's too late. Bless you Man of God for this reminder. We must repent every moment, because we don't know which day we are going to die.
