Hebrews 12 : 2 Devotion (07-25) The Author

Good Morning Family, let us give praise to our Lord, King and Creator of Heaven and Earth. Today's scripture reading comes to us from Hebrews 12:2 and reads: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
An author is someone that creates and publish literary works. These include books, article stories, and they are also responsible for content, ideas and the formation of the plot. They take the idea from concept until the end of thought. Now believers, let us examine who is the author of our lives. The answer should be Jesus. However, oftentimes we try to edit the script.
What chapter are you in? Are you in the beginning chapters of your life or are you in the beginning chapter of the walk with Christ. They say you should never judge a book by its cover. But so many of us look on others and how they live their Christian lives and decide that we do not want to be a part of that. We don't seek to have Jesus create, plan, edit and produce the plot in our lives. We skip or try to skip pages in our lives. We don't like a situation in our lives. We have a saying that we blanked from memory, or already erased it from our memory. Put it far back in the recesses of our mind. But the Author has already written that into you're being.
Do you know what the author is doing? Do you doubt his ability to carry your story to a desired end? He who has begun a good work in you despite which page you are on is faithful to follow through to the end( finisher of our faith). Rereading a chapter would be a test that you did not pass. Which pages have you torn out because of turmoil, a bad relationship or bad situation? Which pages have you scribbled on to show that you have learned and have taken notes and say: “I'm ready for the next chapter of my life”. Is there a chapter in your life than can inspire and encourage others in the faith and are you willing to endure longer chapters so others may be encouraged?
The lord assures us that n
o matter what page we are on that He has our best interest at heart. Jeremiah 29:11 reads, for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. No matter where you are in the book of your life, please allow the Lord in your life to write the remainder of your journey. Remember that he is not just the author but finisher as well. Let us aim to finish strong and fill in all the pages of our lives through Jesus.
Come, join me in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we come humbly before you acknowledging that You have the power to direct our lives if we allow You in. Lord, help us to make our pages and journey an inspiration to all we encounter, in Jesus' mighty name, Amen
