Numbers 14:9 Devotion (05-25) The Other Bread

Good morning Family. Let us lift our hands high in praise that the Lord is our strength and shield. The topic of today’s devotion is “The Other Bread” and the scripture reading is taken from Numbers 14:9 and reads “Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not (KJV)”.
What are the obstacles we face as individuals in our respective lives or people that we must contend with? For some of us it is people that we know that have become a stumbling block for us progressing in whatever endeavour we are pursuing. Let us not look at the challenge as if we are already defeated. Let us not become defeated in our spirit but hold fast to the promises of God that he will fight for us. And because of that, these obstacles in our lives will be bread to us, meaning it is simple and just as mundane as an everyday simple task because God is with us.
Has God given you a promise of something great that you know cannot be accomplished in your own strength? Are you still spying out this promise or have you decided to walk the “land” and declare it yours in the name of Jesus. The spirit of fear is not of God, remember as a child of God, that the righteous are as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1).
Come believers, let us:
· Name the obstacles in your land
· Put aside fear as it has no place here
· Pray for courage and guidance
· Walk boldly into the land of your promise
· Share your testimony of God's deliverance
Come join me in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father we give thanks for the ability to come to You directly in prayer. Lord, we are thankful that You have made promises to us that You will provide the resources for us to attain. Lord, we are grateful that there is no obstacle in our lives that is beyond Your reach and control. Lord, as we step forward in faith, we claim the promises made and the fact that whatever giants are presented to us are bread for us because You are with us always, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
