Jeremiah 32 Devotion (05-25) Your clay pot

Good morning Family. Let us lift our hands and give praise that we are Christian Soldiers and Today's topic of devotion is “Your clay pot”, and the scripture reading is taken from Jeremiah 32 and in particular verses 14 and 15 which reads: The Lord, God of Israel, says: Take both this sealed deed and the copy and put them into a pottery jar to preserve them for a long time. 15 For the Lord, God of Israel, says: In the future these papers will be valuable.[b] Someday people will again own property here in this country and will be buying and selling houses and vineyards and fields. (Living Bible)”
Now there are many things happening in this scripture. From Jeremiah being in prison to the city being seized by the Babylonians. Now we will look at the instructions given to bury the deed for property in a pot. Now believers, what has the Lord placed on your heart that you have not responded to yet. What scriptures have you hidden away in your heart for when the time gets challenging, you can unearth.
Do you even trust the Lord enough to listen when He advises us to “buy land” these days. Are we faithful to listen to the word of God when we see chaos and destruction around us? Can we listen to God when all of your friends and family tell you that you are making an unwise decision.
How about when it is time to dig up what is buried. Remember that this is the worst decision that Jeremiah could make because he is writing from prison, and the city is about to be besieged. This shows us at least two things. First thing is that Jeremiah is obedient and second, is that God is faithful. What have you placed in a clay pot recently which will be needed to encourage you or another person. What you have buried, will it be for your blessing alone for you buried enough to share with another. The purchase from prison shows confidence in God that the city will be restored and His promise kept.
We must pay attention to what is the material of your pots. The clay pot can be seen as your body / temple and the deed is the word of God being placed on your heart. The claypot while it is in your body, it does not belong to you once you accept Jesus Christ as Lord as Saviour, we must understand that not everything that God asks us to do will make any sense to others. However, we are responsible for keeping our pots buried, sealed and waiting for when The Lord advises us that it is time to call upon the words we have hidden in our hearts.
Come join me in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father we give thanks for Your word and that You speak to us through your word. Lord, help to be obedient and to be better soldiers for Christ and grow spiritually in every season of our lives, in Jesus’ name Amen.
